How to Free a Bit of Clogged RAM

How to Free a Bit of Clogged RAM(2)

Tips
1.Check the Task Manager for crashed programs which haven't properly closed, as they sometimes leave a process open without you knowing.

2.When disabling and re-enabling explorer.exe be careful as sometimes when running applications which display a button in the time/date area they will disappear (For example, AIM or MSN.) If this is the case, your best bet is to disable the process and restart it.

3.If this doesn't work and your computer continues to lag, try a reboot, if the problem persists your CPU may be overheating or your RAM may be dying. Check the system temperature by accessing the BIOS menu.

4.The reason this works is that killing explorer.exe frees all memory used by it. When the process is restarted, it would then be free of memory leaks and similar memory bloat.

Warnings
Sometimes slow performance is caused by dust in the computer itself, so buy a can of compressed air and spray the dust out.
